The Rev. Dr. Mack Sigmon is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a lifelong Presbyterian. Having served as a Deacon in his home congregation, Mack entered the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed his undergraduate degree with majors in Religion (biblical emphasis) and English. After serving with the Peace Corps in Zaire, Africa, Mack entered Princeton Theological Seminary as a candidate under the care of Mecklenburg Presbytery (PCUS).

After receiving his M.Div. with a concentration in Reformed Theology, Mack was ordained and served as Pastor of Derita Presbyterian in Charlotte, North Carolina. During this time Mack married his seminary sweetheart, the Rev. Amy Sass, and they served as a clergy couple in Charlotte. After the birth of Mack and Amy’s daughter, Patricia, the Sigmons moved to Clearwater, Florida, where Mack served as Pastor of Peace Memorial Presbyterian. Amy served as designated pastor of Church of the Reconciler. Mack also served on the Committee On Ministry of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay for 10 years. During this time both Mack and Amy received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

After a decade of service in Florida, Mack returned and served as a Pastor of Sharon Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Because Amy had received her interim ministry certifications while in Florida, Mack had the opportunity to observe her work and learn the nuances of the Interim Pastor, and decided to explore the possibility of this specialized ministry.

After his service to the Charlotte congregation, Mack and Amy served together as co-interims of Locust Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Charlotte. It was during this time that Mack received his Level One and Level Two training, which led to his first contract as Interim Pastor at First Presbyterian, Delray Beach, FL. Following Delray Beach, Mack served 2 years as Interim Pastor for the Worthington Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio. Mack completed his last interim at First Presbyterian Church, Dunedin, FL, in 2016.  Mack also served as a “first responder” to a conflicted congregation at the invitation of Mission Presbytery, Texas.

Their daughter, Patricia, recently graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.

Mack has served the larger church as a Grader of Ordination Exams and on the Committee on Ministry, Education, Examinations, and Candidates Committees. Mack has also served on the faculty of the Interim Ministry Consortium, where has taught certification Levels I and II at Montreat, NC, and other locations.

Mack began his call as Installed Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Arizona in January of 2017.
